Z46 Membrane Genoa, Z46 Membrane Jib and Z46 Membrane Mainsail

If you are after all the benefits of the Z42 structure with a classic appearance in a high-performance Genoa, Jib, or Mainsail for local club or offshore racing, look no further than our Z46 Membrane range.

The main difference between a Zeptyr Membrane and off-the-shelf fabrics is that we control the fibre density, placement, and orientation throughout the sail. This saves significant weight and locks the sail in an optimised shape.

We use ultra-high molecular weight, low-stretch fibres that are combined with ultralight wear-resistant cover materials that offer improved resistance to tears and abrasion and our ultra-flexible adhesives. The membranes are completed by lamination under high pressure to ensure a complete structural bond. The Z46 range uses the same process as the Z42 membrane with the same abrasion resistance whilst offering an ultra-light sail. All this in a classic white finish to complement any sailing vessel.

While some membrane manufacturers lay their cloth in flat panels and shape the edges to create the 3D shape. As a result, they do not offer ‘true continuous fibre’ solutions. At Zeptyr, we lay our fibres directly onto the pre-shaped sail mould, ensuring a genuinely smooth aerodynamic profile.

If you want all the benefits of the Z46 membrane but want a lighter, moisture-resistant Mylar-based sail, consider the Z72 range. If you are looking for the ultimate in longevity, wear, and UV resistance, look at the Z09 range.
